Suggestion: Up the rate at which quest related critters drop the related items.

OR

Make the drops quest items like the Iboga petals.

Why?

Ive been playing for 5 hours killing the damn termites and have gotten 1 leg.
Haven't even started the other quest yet but I've done it before on another char and I don't relish doing it again.

There is a thread linking this style of questing to grinding and it feels exactly like that.

With the recent implementation of the new drop system it has made these types of quests even worse.

come back tot he quest when you're a higher level and can solo the nasty beasties.

I saved all termite legs I found, so when having to do that quests, I alread had them, once all character had the quest done, I gave away the remaining legs to newbies.

You could do so too.

The drop rate seems to dramatically increase after you've completed the quest, so they are attainable from other players easily. It also gives new players a little practice using the trade system.

My opinions is that considering this is a newb island quest and not one of the "master" quests it should not be such a time sink or have a requirement of being high lvl to do so, the reward / effort ratio shows this.

If you are lucky to have the patronage of a high level character or guild it may be ok but for the most part but this should not be a requirement either.

It takes forever for a fairly easy quest. Unless you have a high level that can solo the beasts for quest its hard to get what you need. And for new players that just own NF and just started playing this can be a frustrating quest.

this kinda seems trivial to me... its a begining quest and its ment to be annoying to 1 aqaint you with the trade system and to make sure you got some battle EXP under your belt before you head off and get owned in the face.

Today I got 5 of them and a dragon meat piece in normal mode just by killing the 10 termites and 2 dragons outside 'Champion's Dawn'.

So I can't see a problem with this.
